A Spyderco Sharpmaker 204MF model is really good for it's pricepoint.

For deeper pockets, the Edgepro systems are the way to go.

Since you already have a Lansky, get a Lansky course and meduim diamond stone if you don't already them -- use these to reprofile a blade or deal with an extremely dull one.

Get the Sharpmaker to maintain your blades. The Sharpmaker is superb at maintaining an edge and a lot faster and easier to use than the Lansky; but, unless your blade profiles match the Sharpmaker's 20 degree angle or less, it will take you quite a long time to remove enough metal to get to the edge with the Sharpmaker. Diamond rods for the Sharpmaker work pretty well; but, they will cost you more than twice what two diamond stones for the Lansky would set you back.

I only own two knives, but I would like to keep them sharp without having to send them back to the manufacturer. I'm a little too busy right now to invest the time required to learn how to hand sharpen so I've been thinking about getting one of these sharpening systems. Does anyone have any pictures they could post that show the relative scale of one of these setups (how much table space does it take up.) I'm also not quite sure how they work. Any information would be appreciated.

Edgepro!

Edgepro got me hooked on blades. I bought it to sharpen my kitchen knifes. After that I bought my first "real" knife.
