Will be there next month and will have a day or two to kill while my wife is in conference. Any decent knife or gun shops to visit and drool in?
Thanks,
Rich

Unless things have changed dramatically in the two years since I lived there, there's only one "serious" source for knives in the River City...Nagel's Guns & Knives on San Pedro (on the near north side inside Loop 410). They have an excellent selection of production and high-end semi-custom/limited production blades (Randall, Chris Reeve, Mad Dog, etc.), and occasionally a few custom pieces. The staff is very friendly and fairly knowledgeable. Be aware that you will basically be paying MSRP (if not more) for most of the pieces that they carry...however, if you take your time looking through the display cases there are usually a few good deals to be had. I usually make a point of stopping in and picking up a couple of blades whenever I'm back in town (I like to try and patronize the brick-and-mortar guys when possible)...they had a pretty nice selection of Sebenzas the last time I was there. I'm pretty ignorant regarding firearms, but I've heard good things about about their gun shop as well. It's a pretty nice place to pass some time among a bunch a pretty sharp, pointy things, and sure beats fighting with the turistas on the Riverwalk over watered-down margaritas and bad Mexican food...

Thanks for the reply, Jim. That sounds like my kind of place and is definitely on my "to do" list. The knife shops in Denver are pretty much limited to the mall variety. The one I've found that's even heard of a Sebenza only stocks one or two at a time.
Thanks again,
Rich
