Why does it always seem that about a week before a show you will work like a madman. Put in 20 hour days and not be tired. Any other time its make what you want, try new designs. Is it just me ( I like working under pressure) or does everyone else do the same thing.

Knife show flurries. WHY??

Some folks procrastinate until the last minute.
I build a knife every few weeks for the shows.
This way I am ready when the time comes. Its still a battle a few weeks before the show getting everything ready. It just the nature of the beast!

I imagine it's a discipline thing, too. You start getting a pile of show knives, someone contacts you with money in hand and looking to spend it, and the "no knives available" sign all of a sudden becomes "Well, I DO have these I've been saving..." Next thing you know you're piling on hours to get more done right before a show!

I usually have the knives ready but its always the sheath thing that bites me on the ass......

This is pretty funny. I've never set up at a show, largely because I can't make enough knives ahead to put on a table! And like Chiro said, as soon as a get a couple ahead someone comes along with money and out the door they go... Plus, I'm probably the least prolific knife maker who ever lived (except Guy Thomas, who rarely even comes around here anymore, the slacker). Wish I lived somewhere they actually have knife shows! Maybe I'd get to meet some of you folks in person.
