My Club's knife show was yesterday (Wolverine Knife Collectors Club) and it was great. I urge any of you not a member of some club to join. You can learn a lot.

One of my favorite displays was back... a six year old member displayed his toy knives. This photo stinks, but I was jittery form too much coffee. Also, here is a pic of the most expensive item I purchases, a nice Schrade hunter in box with sheath. Also, a 'lunker' by Schrade/Walden. Saw some other old Schrades, but not enough. A couple of S-Ws. Some very old Schrade Cut. Co., including a really nice mother of pearl. I did not find the prices unreasonable.

About displays, and how this relates to one of our members here. I saw his book on a couple of tables, both used as a reference and for sale. I'm writing about our LT, of course. This was the kind show where LT's switchblade displays would have really created some interest. At much larger shows, even more so. Some folks do this at knife shows, just for fun, to educate others, to educate. When I do a local one day show, I always stick my favorite Pearl toothpicks into a glass covered frame and show them off, and people do like admiring them.

But our LT, a former Law enforcement officer, could end up in jail for showing his collection. Could be a whole litany of offences, including interstate violations. And even if he wanted to sell one of his valuable pieces of American ingenuity and workmanship, he is prevented... and you should have seen some of the tactical junk selling cheap enough for any punk to buy at the show. Imagine this... one does not have the oppurtunity to purchase a real historical knife with significant value, but one can buy a crappy sword.

Forgive me LT for not being as elegant as you when writing about this. But I thought it illustrated the problem you face exposing people to your wonderful collection.

Here's the schrade content, and the toy knife display that young boy was so proud of.
