Can anyone tell me where there are any knife dealers in southeast Mich. Also how would I find a show schedule for the same general area?

Thanks

Mike

There are a few dealers, but about the closest one to me (Livonia) is Harry's Army Navy Surplus. They carry a few decent brands.

As for shows, check with Gibraltar Trade Center for their schedule and you can also check shotgunnews.com for their gun and knife show schedule. They also list some shows on the schedule in the back of the knife magazines.

I was at a knife shop in Waterford (Woods custom knives, I think) on Andersonville rd. He had a great selection of high quality customs including some mosiac decorated Sebenzas. He also had a huge selection of old Blackjack (and Randalls if I recall) as well as a large selection of autos (for LEO only)including OTF and other MT's. I locked my checkbook and wallet in my gunsafe before making the trip, and am I glad. I would have been broke, super great stuff.
I believe that there is going to be a couple of big knife shows at the Novi Expo center (one in NOV, one in JAN, I think) if anyone is interested in doing a BFC knife knut breakfast (meet and eat) email me and We'll work out the details.

Hello Mike,

For shops you can hit the Great Lakes Crossing mall in Auburn Hills, Outdoor Word/Bass Pro Shops had an decent knife selection. I have not been there but a buddy of mine said there is a knife shop with in that mall as well. There's the new Cabellas that just opened in Dundee. The Harry's Army Surplus that Ron mentioned is pretty good, I belive it's in Dearborn on the corner of Ford Rd and Telegraph.

As mentioned the Wolverine Knife Collectors Club ( http://expage.com/page/wkcc )has two knife shows coming up.

November 18-19, 2000
A 74 table show at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main St in Clawson, the hall is on Livernois between 14 and 15 mile road.

January 26,27,28, 2001
Wolverine Knife Collectors Annual Show, Novi Expo Center, Novi. The Expo center south of I-96 off of Novi road (thanks Mike). This show had a great turn out last year, really worth going to.

A meet and eat sound great before the show and after to show off our toys.

Take care,
Tom

I am in Michigan but not on the East side of the state. I am located in Grand Rapids, MI. I don't have a store front but would be more than happy if anyone wants to stop in and see any of my knives that I have available or just to shot the bull. Just call first to make sure I am in and to get directions.

Clawson? Holy frijoles, I'm just over in Berkley, a whole, say, ten minutes away. I'm so there. Broke, but there.

Can we come to some sort of general consensus that there could be a need for a "meet-and-greet" along with the fall Wolverine Show?

This fall show's just over 6 weeks away, when should we start a "body count"? And what kind of meet. Breakfast somewhere? Dinner and suds somewhere?

Let's toss some ideas around.

On an aside, I received an e-mail late in the day before I took some vacation time (to reshingle the roof and some other remodeling, some vacation, eh?) from a fellow Forum member who wanted to hook up with me so that we could share our mutual appreciation for Rinaldis. Admittedly, and negligently, I completely brain-farted and forgot to respond before I left work until Monday, so if this guy happens to read this, my apologies, and yes, I'd love to fondle a Rinaldi Chimera, especially if you bring the Armegeddon.

I've been accused of being Canadian, eh.

The Novi and Clawsonshows sound good. Someone metioned a meet after to show off our toys...is that a good idea? I just got a funny mental picture of 4-5 jokers sitting at Big Boy each pulling out Sifus and scary looking Hobbit Warroirs & things and the elderly couple at the next table eyeing them in terror...
We could test which factory edge cuts Big Boy sausage links the best or withstands the corrosion test of salt and maple syrup.
Regarding Target Sport or Harry's Surplus, they are over priced. So are most retail stores around here...$175 for a Benchmade AFCK,indeed!
I'll bring the bandaids.
