Knife shows seem to be on the way out in my area, central Maryland. The Chesapeake knife show is no more, and I'm hoping that the Mason Dixon knife show sticks around. Lewisberg and Easton PA seem to be pretty far, and Harrisonburg VA is extremely far! Gun shows just don't have the same selection or custom makers. I am glad to have a few knife dealers out there that exhibit at the gun shows, but it's mainly become cheap damascus from suspect distributors, or junk CCC knives. I much prefer walking a knife show, to perusing online. Good deals can be had at shows, most of those dealers don't want to lug all that stuff home.

Can anyone recommend any good knife shows in or near the central Maryland area? Any good gun shows? Within a three hour drive of the Baltimore-York corridor.

I got no recommendations, but I feel your pain. I've been attending shows off-and-on for a long time, and though there haven't been any "Knife Shows," in the area, there used to be a lot more "Gun and Knife Shows." Lately it's more plain "Gun Shows."

For a decent show, I have to drive 5 hours to Tulsa, OK for an "Arms Show" which really is about 50/50 guns vs. knives. It is worth the drive, though, when I can actually make it.

For the Gun shows, I've been able to find a few knife dealers, and have gotten a couple decent deals, but it's hit-and-miss, for the most part, and I have stopped going as often as I used to.

Good luck with your quest.

West Coast: OKCA 2015 this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Eugene, Oregon you must attend this show that draws international participants at least once in your lifetime. This is a show that I can vouch for. You really need two days to take it all in. Friday is for setup and members only. Saturday has demonstrations and Sunday is bargain day. Oregon has knife friendly laws so automatics and gravity knives will be available. This year's theme is Japanese cutlery. Simply google OKCA for details.

I can't believe I missed the Harrisionburg show. I go every year, April 3,4, and 5, and this year I just plain forgot about it. must be old age.

It was nice...

:D

Yes, it's a good, relaxing show. Plenty of parking, low entry price, and lots of tables. The main attraction for me, though, is I always buy 3-4 hundred dollars of belts from Pop. guess I'll have to contact him on the net (sigh).

Yeah, it was my first time going though, so I had no clue what it was like. I thought it was gonna be mostly production stuff. Definitely going back next year if time permits.
