Stephen Hunter "Time to Hunt." The guy's an awesome writer, I just started reading his books last week after somebody on the green forum linked me to the movie that's being made on his novel "Point of Impact."

Excellent books, and that's coming from someone who writes for his paycheck.

Anyway, on page 341, a Russian sniper is written as cutting open a bag with a Spyderco.

Just thought I'd mention it, and give the books some props, because "Bob the Nailer" and his dad Earl are pretty much my two favorite fictional characters today.

I'll have to check it out, then. Once you start paying attention to how someone writes, just as much as to what they write, it's kind of a slippery slope. You can no longer read some of the best-sellers because of the quality of writing.

Not that I write for a paycheck, but I'm definitely working on finishing some fiction and getting it published.

I've read every one of his books. AWESOME!!!. Accually I really didn't read much till I read warm springs. Then I read poing of impact. The cable went out when I was on vacation at a hotel and there was a big storm so we couldn't leave. So I saw it in the gift shop. I couldn't put it down. Accually no, It was Dirty white boys, Anyway I couldn't put it down. I wasn't really a reader, Then I eventually got all the books he wrote and read them over and over. So basicly his books got me into reading, and now I don't really watch T.V. anymore. Anyone on these forums would be totally into his books, even if not a reader like I was before.

I loved Earl and Bob Lee. I think I have all the books, and have read them all at least twice (I tend to re-read the previous books in a series when I get a new one). Excellent stories !:D

Edited to add: Bob Lee is glad he makes a small, sharp Case knife in the watch pocket of his jeans a regular part of his apparel (in Point of Impact)
