Knife sighting on Burn Notice

on last nights Burn Notice an assassin masquerading as a secret contact pulled two Nato OTF switchblades on Michael Westen and took an nice slice out of mikes shoulder before the would be killer was thrown off of the fourth story of a parking structure(action is from 3:04-3:08).Heres the episode and heres the knife

Yeah, they use a lot of cheap knives on that show.

They prop people should do better.

Still, the show is enjoyable.
 
A few weeks ago Sam used an Emerson to cut his own thumb. Think it was a CQC-7 (would make sense since he's a former SEAL, but idk about Emersons).

The show has a low budget :)

Really though, bad guys probably don't care if a knife uses D2 steel and if it has bladeplay. They want something that is pointy and will kill.
 
I understand the low budget, which is probably one reason I like it.

I figured the use of a cheap knife is for "drop it" purposes, myself.

I mean, if I were an "operator", I'd use a cheap knife for the "dirty" stuff, since such tools must be disposed of (evidence, you know).

I was flipping channels the other day and I caught that. It was an Emerson Police Utility Knife, hard chromed with a partially serrated edge. A nice little fixed blade I've been trying to get my hands on.
 
Doggone it, I missed just that bit of the scene with the knife play.

I like that show. I don't know anyone else that watches it.
