I was wathcing Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (on Cartoon Network) last night and in this episode Major Kusanagi picked up a sommelier tool (okay, not quite a knife) but behind the little bottle opener was a sign that said "Laguiole" with the half-open Laguiole knife logo. Somebody did some research.

Keep an eye out for the combat knife she carries every once in a while. I think it's in the one with the tank in like the 2nd or 3rd episode. It's also going to be seen again in 2nd Gig in the episode where Saito tells of how he got recruited. 2nd Gig also has a lot of swords early on. The bad guy in that carries a Ka-Bar like knife in a few episodes. Batou also carries some sort of combat knife.

That's one thing about anime. They are fanatical when it comes to getting the details on the weapons.

In the last episode of Cowboy Bebop you can see the serial number and see "Jericho" and "Made in Israel" on Spike's pistol. But like I said, keep an eye out in the second season for more knives. I also remember another episode with the Major's knife. She uses it to freak out a kid rather than arrest him because he thinks she's Yakuza.
In one episode of Samurai Champloo you see a couple of balisongs (and a wooden samurai sword with nails in it lol).

in ghost in the shell the indivdual 11 use katans to behead each other..
except Kuza :D (anime freak :) )

Here's some screen shots of the knives from the episode. For those interested, it's Stand Alone Complex episode 17 - Angel's Share. It's on DVD 5. There are 2 knives, one behind glass for a second and another one that the Major buys.

I love gits and am making a knife from the Bendis comic "Powers" as my next
project. There is a good knife fight near the end of 2nd gig where baytou
and the not quite bad guy have it out.
Battlestar Galactica uses SOG knives and Starbuck stabbs a cylon a few times.
I have a set of laguolie steak knives and I love them.

This is more like a wine bottle opener than a knife ;)

it was i wine bottle opener she bought it for the old guy (cant remember the
name) he was going to seen and old friend. the lady he went to see was
a wine seller...I think

The Major and Chief Aramaki Daisuke were attending a summit in London when he went to visit his old friend. It's a neat episode because it shows he's not just an administrative type, when his back is to the wall, he can survive.

In one of the episodes of Stand Alone Complex, Pazu (I think) gets in a knife duel at the end with a clone(?), I believe. Pretty cool series.

I've got all of GitS SAC season one and all but the last 2 disks of 2nd Gig. I'll start getting more knife screenshots after I get home from vacation visiting my family.

pazu dosnt fight a clone...its his x-girlfriend. She swapt her body for his and
was planing to kill him :D kinda creepy

There was an episode of The Unit a few weeks ago, where one of the characters, along with a Russian (I presume) babe had crash-landed a helocopter in the wilderness. At one point there was a pretty good view of his knife. I thought I recognized it at the time, but it was long-enough ago that I no longer recall what it was. A large-ish Spyderco, perhaps?

Damn crappy short-term memory

In addition, the show NCIS regularly shows knives. I've spotted a Kershaw Leek, Cold Steel XL Tanto Voyager, Spyderco Endure/Delica, a Benchmade Nimravus, Cold Steel Kobun, and some Gerbers.

On the Discovery show Man Vs. Wild, I've spotted a Wenger locking SAK w/half-serrated blade; a semi-serrated Gerber Gator, and a black-coated, half-serrated thumb-studded folder (A Benchmade??).

BTW, I also remembered that Microtech folder in Cowboy Bebop the movie; great pics, Mathu!

In the anime called full metal alchemist a guy (cant spell his name) uses
throwing knives the look like push blades. any thoughts on these blades?

On Comedy Central the Jeff Foxworthy crew has several switchblades in their short comedy acts.......
