I thought you guys might like to see some knife concepts I was working on, I have been posting to the benchmade site a little bit as well.
 
Thanks man! I use a combo of manual (pen paper), then I will bring it into photoshop. I can use alias for 3D work.
 
The display you present for us is inspiring and very professional.Especially its blade looks so sharp.I also have some ideas if you wanna added into your work:

Nice work. You mentioned posting to benchmade forum. Do you see any results from showing your design concepts to the manufacturer?

I have a couple unique (i think) ideas bouncing around my head. I've started prototyping one, and about to start the second. I considered farming the ideas out to gauge response, but thought it would be better to have a prototype in hand first.

What is your experience with this sort of thing?

Mac, I got some decent feedback from other users of the site..pretty good forum. I didn't get any side work from it or anything like that..if that's what you mean. I am not really a prototype person, but more of the concept designer..I can generate many ideas before it goes to a model. The 3d side of it helps make that transition better.

I am will be finishing up another pistol concept tonight hopefully. Don't know how it will turn out.

Either picking up design work and/or having one of your designs used for a production knife. I've got lots of CAD experience, although I don't always use it when making knives.
 
No, not yet. I do make a living designing semi trucks, so the knife/gear this is relatively new for me...even though it falls into the product design category. My background is in vehicle design.

This is what I mean by idea generation, I could crank out a bunch of these to get a rough theme, then dial it in with some photoshop..then finish it up with cad if need be.
