Does anyone use a spreadsheet to keep track of all of their knives? I've created one in Excel and would be happy to share it with anybody who would like it.

It has sections for listing owned, purchased, and sold knives and separates owned knives into folding and fixed blade categories. Each item has a place to list knife details. It also has a tab which gives you counts as well as total and average values.

Does anyone else use something similar? If you'd like a copy of my spreadsheet then just let me know.

So I'm not the only one eh!

I don't track everything you do, but I do track who gave me the knife as well as the occasion it was for. This is more for my kids one day than myself.

Yep I do the same thing but I use Google Drive. In fact, yours is so similar to mine it's kind of scary.

One thing I don't do is add up the purchase price columns. I don't want to know what that number is.

Yea, I am a little worried that I am outing myself as a total geek. And usually I'd rather not know exactly how much I've spent on knives! But I do find the spreadsheet useful for keeping track of my wish list and what I've owned in the past.

I do the same. And I used the spreadsheet to create a map for where I have the knife located in my knife drawer

I keep a list of knives I own separated into Modern Folders, Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades. It's not nearly as detailed as yours is however, yours is quite impressive.

One thing that I like alot in in Google Drive is that you can easily create "views" to set up filters and/or different sorting so you can very easily switch between these different views and only see the information that you are interested in. I'm not sure if you can do this in modern spreadsheet desktop applications but it's really simple to use in Google.

Damn, pretty impressive. I don't use spreadsheets but props to you guys that keep things in order like this.

Yes, I use one and have it setup like an inventory sheet with the following columns. Nothing major but tells me what I want to know.

new/used, desc, qty, cost, shipping cost, tax, total cost, date purchased, purchased from, date received and comments. I use a seperate sheet for Spyderco, Leatherman, Vic-Wenger, etc.

Edit: I also have a column for "Model #".
