Hello! I am in need of a good conversion chart over knife steels. I need a chart that tells both AISI (the american standard i think) to the SS (Swedish Standard). If anyone know where i can find something like that i would be really grateful!

Some steels from makers (such as RWL-34, M390, CPM-S90V etc) normally have a comparison listed in the patent, but I have never found a chart showing all standards across the board for every steel. Maybe a company has one for themselves, but never seen one on internet. Closest you can get is Zknives for knife steels. Remember a lot of the steels we use are not designed as knife steels. Only a handful of steels have ever been designed as a knife steel from the ground up.

Make sure you check composition as sometimes the charts seem not to know the difference between equivalent and closest !
ZKnives is the best

You can use knife steel database.
Go to either http://zknives.com/knives/steels/aisi for AISI steels or http://zknives.com/knives/steels/sis for Swedish standard steels.
Once you find the alloy you need in the list, click on it and in the detail view you will see it's equivalents in all other standards and proprietary alloys confirming to that standard spec as well.

Alternatively, if you dont' mind too much of scrolling, once you land on on one of those links, click "Settings" button and in the popup window uncheck "Hide Ref. Names" checkbox, or you can simply use keyboard shortcut ALT+I to achieve the same effect.
That will expans name cell in the table to show eaquivalent alloys in that group below the standard name.
Let me know if you have any questions.
