Knife steel

Does anyone have any ideas on where to get steel for making knives in Victoria British Columbia. I have been looking around a bit and feel very limited to an overpriced dealer and online. If anyone has any ideas or places they have used or heard of I'm open to anything. Thanx

you should give Rob a try at www.knifemaker.ca
1095 is cheap, but they also have precision ground O1 which I just got a small piece of.

what kind of knife do you want to make? I have a piece of 10"x1 1/2" 1095 from knifemaker.ca which was misshipped that I didn't have to pay for, which I'll pay forward to you if you want it. I'll bring it to the shop so it will be here if you get on out.
