Today I found something that seems to work well for blade storage / display. I think it looks good and it locks! (And my wife let me put it in our closet;) ) It came with thin black foam in the drawers but my question is, do you guys think if the infi is resting on the foam it could cause the blade to rust over time?

Plz tell me where u got it, I finally got an office in the new house, and would love some like that in it

Costco in Canada. It is made for tools so the drawers can hold lots of weight. The top is solid wood. It came with heavy duty wheels for the base but I didn’t want them installed for my set up.

Thankyou, I'm Gona try their website, i went there last weekend to look into Office desks, but they already switched to all spring/summer stuff

That's pretty great! Nice to see something like this being offered.

I don't think you have to worry about the foam mat as much as the head covers being on your hatchets.

Good call about the hatchet sheaths Chad, Thanks. I have one drawer dedicated to sheaths and accessories I have added them to. They now sit naked in the drawers ;)

That’s a nice setup! Could you possibly measure the internal dimensions of the shelves? I see the top is 36”, but no other measurements are given. I was just at my local Costco (Florida) yesterday, and they didn’t have this.

Inside measurements are 26 3/4” x 15”

That's a great looking cabinet. How is the quality of the drawer slides?

Honestly, your axes might rust in those sheaths. I have the same chest from Costco doing the same exact thing. I keep a drawer for sheaths only. Side note: I love Costco! I got mine for $299, but it was our region’s regular price, and it was last year.

I removed the foam from my chest for reasons of rust. I use the shelving liner that GEC uses on all their “What’s Happening” section. I find this critical, because it allows the air to move underneath the knives. I have to keep the heat or air conditioning going at all times, to keep my humidity down, in my house. I also wipe all blades down in mineral oil, before storage.

It’s my understanding that INFI is really close to rust proof. I decided to test that. Warranty covers it. I’ve had a BAE2 out in the GA humidity, red clay, tree detritus, and rain for 5 days now. No rust or pitting has formed anywhere. I’m moving it every day to another area and simply wiping it down with my hand. The ground is squishing under foot her and has been, so the next few days, should be close to 90% humidity. It’s in a conifer now hoping to impale a squirrel.

Thanks!

Wait, what!? You mean to tell that if I completely neglect my Kin to the point that it starts rusting away or fails due to rust, that that’s under warranty?? I figured that would be the only situation that they wouldn’t cover. Never even considered the possibility of a carbon blade with a rust warranty. If that is the case, they might all be getting naked. ;)
