I remember a few threads in the past where people recommended envelopes to store knives in.One brand came up several times and then a less expensive version was recommended. Anyone care to throw some names/advice out again?
Thanks.

I have some Maxpedition but they are pretty expensive.

Then I discovered Robbins Knife Cases. I have found them Here.

IMO they are better than Maxp because they have a better liner and are cheaper.

Awesome that's what I was looking for! (Which isn't to say I don't welcome other ideas!) Thanks man.

If you still have your cardboard sheaths, the cheapest is a bubble-wrap envelope from Staples. $1 or so.

+1 for Maxpedition Envelope's & Razorshell's. In my opinion, they are worth the cost.

At first I wondered about the suggestions to buy a $1.0 and $2.0 cases for knives that literary cost hundreds of dollars each and then I got it. Who can afford to buy anything more expensive than that when saving to buy more knives? :D

Several of these items are treated with "silicone". Anyone have a source for silicon? Or is this just the spray can of silicone lube you can get at any gun shop or hardware store? Some advertise that they are impregnated with 100% silicone.

I only have 2 hands. Maybe I have too many knives....not possible.

I use Museum paper for knives that are in storage. It is acid free and will not scratch. You can buy it in any good art supply store. Not too expensive either.

i continue to use wax paper over the years, it provides protectant and is acceptable until one can do better, after all expensive knives are shipped in butcher paper and that has the same protectant on it as wax paper and it is way cheap...

I have too many Busse, if I put them in cases, I would never be able to find the one I was looking for... :)

Another plus with Kydex sheaths, you can store your knives in them, unlike leather. Lightly oil them first.
