I bought a cheap ass case of amazon and it's A) cheap and shitty and B) way too small and I've outgrown it.

What do you guys use? I've seen the Pelican case solution and that seems pretty neat but I was wondering what else it out there. Most of the cases/rolls I have seen on the internet seems to be geared more towards kitchen cutlery than folding knives.

The big spyderpac seems like a pretty solid option. I've been meaning to get one but it's so hard to convince yourself to spend the $30 or so dollars on it when it could just go towards more knives!

+1 on the spyderpac

I hang a couple of spyderpacs on the wall with removable wall hooks. Sorry about the cell phone pic, but you get the idea.

I use a tackle box for my folders, drawer for my fixed blades. I only have about 15 total though.

Currently using a hand-me-down medium Pelican case. I took the foam inserts out of an aluminum briefcase I've had for a while and cut them down to fit. The bottom foam is scored into blocks, so you simply push down the blocks for a cutout.

For traditionals, I bought one of the inexpensive UC carrying cases from Amazon. Wasn't very impressed. Had a feeling the cheap red "felt" lining would wind up on my knives at some point, so sold it off.
Case makes two sizes of the Leather Carrying Case. Very well made, nice plush lining, foam padding, separator. More expensive at ~$60.

Spyderpac is about the best I've found for larger folders. Well made and not too expensive. They make 2 sizes at ~$28-36.

Pelican cases are outstanding quality. Many choices of size and layout with the easy to modify foam. But quite pricey.

Tackle boxes can work very well. Lot of configurations and usually very inexpensive.

For bulk, Container Store has a lot of options. Or look around the storage area of Home Depot or Lowes. They normally have several choices at very cheap prices.

Thanks for the info!

Kobalt tool box - got it from one of the big box lumberyards - don't remember which one. Mine has the lid which opens - I have 20 spycercos squeezed in there and there are 3 drawers below - I have approx. 20 fixed blades in them. Stainless steel with a nice rubber liner in the drawers and on the area beneath the lid. Locks. I have mine bolted to the basement floor.

+1 on the Spyderpacs. They are a really good investment in protecting, storing, and moving your knives...

My first choice would be in a gun safe, in a lead-lined concrete vault, in a boobytrapped underground bunker.

Well, for obvious reasons I had to settle for second choice:
This isn't the exact model I have, but you get the idea.

Search the forum for "storage" and you'll get lots of great ideas. We've had this topic several times recently.

Kobalt is Lowe's house brand. The tools aren't great, getting better, but the toolboxes are nice!

I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I roll my knives up in old boxer briefs (they are clean!). It is far more important to make sure that you are protecting the metal from corrosion and the edge from impact, both to protect the edge and for safety reasons. For corrosion protection, I coat all knives that I am storing with TW25B grease. To protect the edge from impact, it depends on the sheath. If the sheath is Kydex, I'll just store the blade in the sheath. If the sheath is leather, I store the sheath separately, and I store the blade in a Messermeister translucent edge-guard.

Note: these measures are far more important for high-carbon fixed blades. Stainless folders don't need all that for long-term storage, although a very thin coat of Hoppes #9 doesn't hurt.
