So as my collection grows im looking for a new way to store my knives. Keeping them in trays in the top of my dresser isnt working anymore! I have a small safe but to be honest the majority of my collection isnt very safe worthy, and id like to be able to keep my knives in my room, or as close as possible. How do yall store your knives? Pictures would be much appreciated! And if I somehow missed a thread that goes over all of this, a link would do me good! Thanks guys!

I've got a "Kershaw" carry case for mine. Holds 18 knives each in their own padded "pocket" with a zipper closure and a handle. My Lansky kit fits in there too, which makes it pretty convenient. Basically the size of a travel toiletries bag so it's easy to store too. There are a bunch out there in different sizes and shapes and capacities, and admittedly for larger folders, the pockets on mine are a little small.

If brand is your thing, every one of the regular makers has one with their name and logo (Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco etc...)

Cheap knives (<$300) go in a Spyderpac, High ends production and Customs (>$300) go in a William Henry box.

I'm repairing an old tool chest that belonged to my Dad from the '40s. Has some splitting and swelling on the side and back, but is in decent shape. New versions of this type chest can be purchased for under $200 and seems to me to be a perfect place to store a nice collection.

I was able to locate a wooden chest much like the one SaintlyBrees is repairing for $70.00 at Harbor Freight. It functions like it was made for storing knives. "Go Saints" I might add.

These are good ideas. I just got into the knife world, so, I too, am looking for a way to store my knives. Now, I just need some knives greater than 300.

I use a Husky tool box with liner in it. 3 pull out drawers, and a top compartment. Picked it up at Home Depot for around $35.

And yes, that's a chain you see there. I lock it to a futon.

That is truly a cool tool box. Is it a Gerstner?

I like this idea as it is more affordable than the William Henry case and looks like it will work well, you can also buy some non-slip rubber inserts from Harbor Freight as well that you can set the knives on and it will not scratch or let your knives slide around. I think I will use this set up instead of my desk draw lined with a towel so I do not scratch blades.

I do like to keep knives in my room, but also like it when people come over they do not see where I keep them. Maybe I could put this in my closet.

I think that any small to medium toolchest will work depending where you are going to put it, a small one will be better most likely. I think if you get one that locks then that is a plus and just put some non-slip rubber liners in it. I like the William Henry box, but $300 is a little much for storage at the moment. A toolchest should hold quite a few knives too and it is even better if you get one that has different draws in which you can lock.

I bought a cheap gun safe and installed shelves into it. They work great I can lock it up and don't have to worry about someone touching my knives.

I have this exact toolbox, I use it to store traditionals, and moderns go in the Pelican Case.

Haven't had to get there yet, as I never keep more than 5 knives at a time.. But if I had to go out and get one, I'd definitely go for that William Henry box!

Currently, I have an old cigar box that I stash them in, with little wooden dividers. Only holds 5, but hey that's all I've got!

Cigar boxes are $.25-$.50 at tobacco stores, but I used to smoke the venerable cheap stogie Marsh Wheeling.

Hot melt glue and cardboard are pretty cheap. This is my EDC/work in process box and has travelled to work and back a few times. I'll do a slightly :o better job on boxes for longer term storage and line the bottom with cork. Wood cigar boxes are a buck or two at tobacco stores.

Gives you an excuse to use your knife to cut stuff up.
