Knife storage

Now that my Bussekin accumulation is growing, I'm running into a problem. Where, and more importantly, how, to store them.

I've thought about a Pelican case, or equivalent, but was curious as to other suggestions. I have a few that have kydex pants, so I'm not too worried about those.

So, what are your suggestions? Pics are more than encouraged.

I keep some of mine in one of these:

Seville Classics UltraHD 6-Drawer Rolling Cabinet. About $200 from Sam's Club, $250 from Amazon.

Because I only have a handful of blades, I decided to try a Bill's Custom Case out for storage of the 2-3 blades that don't see daily use and/or might need to travel in luggage/by mail for a trip. Over paid for an instant gratification 4"x14" suede leather one off That Auction Site and am pretty happy with it; will house my NMSFNO and its new sheath when it returns home. Will probably get one or two more for the other blades.

Maybe it's because I favor bare metal blades, but storing in kydex has not been a good strategy for me. YMMV.

Once I sold all my guns....there was plenty of room in the gun-safe.....now knife safe with a couple of firearms.

Repurposed a bookshelf when we outgrew it and ponied up with nice ones. Makes me fell a little better about the collection when I can have some form of display

My Busse stash has grown quite a few since this picture and I am likely going to add "phase 3", but if you are looking for a practical way to store, not display, then it's great. Luckily I usually have 8-10 at a time down at my work bench so there's still a few slots open.

I started years ago with the top one and then kept large blades in my knife drawer. Phase 2 was larger to accommodate my growing "large knife" collection.

The nice part about this setup is the PVC won't damage the knife in any way, doesn't retain moisture and keeps them from banging. The second one I made is more efficient and rather than PVC pipe uses PVC downspout. Instead of phase 3 I may try to cut a downspout in half length wise and insert it into one of the existing slots to split it in half, allowing space for two knives.

Some good ideas here.

JohnTheTexican, is there any foam, or padding in the drawers?

rwdata, your pics didn't show for me.

cpirtle, that's a cool system there. Looks like you have a revolver addiction, too. lol And is that an EcoZilla up top? Sorry, I'm a watch geek.

NiddHogg, I like it, but Mrs. gruntmedik would not. lol

I did my display case by myself. As a first I had sketched it and implemented accordingly. You are free to develop it as you like.

Yeah, good eye! That EZ was on my wrist every day for almost 10 years. If they made it with the steel band I'd have bought another one. I have bought 5 watches since retiring it and still haven't found one I like better.

Love revolvers! Those are my EDC J's, airweight 22 for around the property, 360PD for pocket carry and when the 640 Pro Series came out I figured I "needed" one for belt carry..

I don't keep mine in the same location. My 2 most used are in the kitchen knife drawer. Another in a "go bag". NMFBM in a hidden location. AK47 in a sword bag..... Hidden. ASH-1 BG..... In tha gun safe.....

I wound up getting the Suppa adapters for mine, so I can wear it with different straps. They also offer the adapters with a fantastic bracelet.

I store mine all over the place. Sock drawers, clothes drawers, in with towels, in backpacks. That way, I occasionally find one and am like, "Hey, new knife!l Cool!"

Hey, it works for my kid and my dog. And it's hell for a thief to try to search for all. He'll never hit the "jackpot."

ETA: Damn, I hate the new iPhone software. What was difficult is now damn near impossible to type without multiple corrections. F-in' software engineers gotta fix sh** that ain't broken. Lucky for me i now have two ways to get rid of the keyboard on my screen. Idiots.
