As I am accumulating more knives, I need some sort of storage plan. I know of the storage packs made by spyderco, etc. But just wondering if there is anything else people use that is creative.

There are a few options out there. Benchmade makes a "brag bag" attache that you can carry around, as do Spyderco and Case. Gerstner makes some very nice "cabinet" type storage cases if you want to go stationary.

I think I may be getting surprised with this one for Christmas from my kids...

I need some good storage as well. Thinking about something like a Sears tool chest with drawers.

I will be getting a Craftsman 7-Drawer Quiet Glide for my knife and multi-tool storage. I'll use the top compartment for tools, lubes and sharpening stuff.

I just use a tackle box; everything is compartmentalized. The knives lay in silicone-impregnated socks, then are placed in the tacklebox, which is then locked.

Gerstner is my dream cabinet. Unfortunately, the household CEO does not share that dream yet. FYI - if you get on Gerstner's email list, they have private sales 2-3x per year with some very significant discounts, especially on factory 2nds that have been reconditioned.
Currently, I use a curio cabinet for eye candy knives, a multi-drawer tool cabinet for tools, supplies and knife storage, and some spare drawers in the spare bedroom dresser for storage of the remainder of my accumulation.
