I will be visiting Austin, Texas this coming week for a business trip. I was wondering if there were any good knife stores in the area. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

well, dont know about good, maybe 'ok', lol.

try mcbrides guns, they have a ok selction of wayyy overpriced BM,spyderco,CRKT,buck, gerber, and a few others i cant recall. not too bad a selection, but again wayy overpriced and the salesman arent the friendliest in the world.

or the cutting edge in round rock,5-6 miles north of austin on IH35 about the same stuff but a little more reasonable.a smaller inventory too i guess. the owner (and only emplyee) is a good guy.

heritage firearms on north 183 has very few, BM,spyderco, the occasional emerson, sometimes hardly anything.

all are mostly gun stores. and they are really the only outlets i know of in the area.

Greg is correct. Not much in Austin. Come back in early August for the Central Texas Knife Show. Good stuff.

Yep, Heritage Firearms has good prices if they have anything in stock. Red's shooting range has a good selection of Benchmades and a few Emersons. Across the street from Mcbride's is a Surplus outfit called Banana Bay that carries some Spyderco,Sog,Crkt.
