Hi everyone,Awhile back I got a friend of mine a Kershaw Leek to use on the job. He's a carpenter. He loved it.He liked the AO the size & the blade shape. He's pretty hard on his tools though so after awhile he snapped the tip.I told him I'd try to find him something in the lines of a true wharcliffe blade with a stronger tip around the same size.
This is where I could use some suggestions. Here are his preferences:

7" overall w/3" blade

Assisted opening

partially serrated

Wharncliffe blade (with a stronger tip than the Leek)

Framelock or Linerlock

$25-$40 shipped

It doesn't matter where it's made. He's just going to beat the heck out of it anyway.Less expensive is better.I'm going to give him a mini prybar to go along with it,because I think he broke the tip prying up staples(even though he won't admit it. ;) ).

Thanks in advance for any help & have a great weekend

I may be able to substitute the AO for a flipper. He just likes the FAST opening part about the AO.I'd get him an auto, but he works in a college building stage sets.I don't think that'd go over too well.

The only thing I can think of is a Kershaw Needs Work, but I don't believe there is an option for serrated. I may be crazy for suggesting this, but take some round files to the edge and do it yourself. I have no idea how easy/hard that would be. Maybe someone can speak up on this who has more experience.

I think I'm just going to give him a link to kershawguy. Thanks StinkyTool

He needs a bigger blade! I have a rat 1 and I pry staples, pry baseboard to close miters, and cut electrical wire with it (I know, I know, I'm a terrible person)...
Perhaps the thermite? I just purchased one and looks like it could survive, we will see ;)
I also use to carry around a chisel ground mora, before it broke it was very convenient.
What kind of carpentry does he do?
