Knife Suggestion???????????

I can only get one, but I can't decide between the Benchmade 940 or the Spyderco Sage 2. Which one would you recommend?

What's the legal blade limit for your locality? Both are fine knives, but the 710 has a pretty long blade. Some people like recurves, others hate them, while still others don't mind them.

The Sage 2 would make a great EDC, but there's also something to be said about the iconic BM 710 as well.

Edit: Did I read your post wrong? Or did you change it right after I posted?

Anyways, I personally found the 940's blade shape to be more annoying than useful. I'd suggest the 943 as a better alternative to the 940, but between the Sage 2 and the 94x series, I'd say that it will depend on your lock preference and which knife is more ergonomic in hand.

I would have to give my vote to the 940. The knife is as smooth as butter, has the Axis lock, is lighter than the Sage 2, and the cutting edge is longer than the Sage 2's entire blade (3.4" blade with about 3.2" cutting edge vs. Sage 2's 3" blade with 2.6" cutting edge). Oh, and it also costs slightly less than the Sage 2.

What are you going to use it for?

Spyderco Makes Amazing Knives, And Frame Locks In General Are Overall Just Great.
Titanium Is Even Better.
But I Do Like Benchmade As Well.
I Owned A BM 943 At Once And Loved It. The 940 Is Similar.
But With The Sage 2 You Have More Blade To Work With(Width And Thickness Wise).
And Really Just More Of A Handle On Heavy Use.
If This Is A Knife You Plan To Carry, But Never Used, Get Either, But If You're Looking For A Nice Little Heavy Duty Folder For Every Day Carry And Frequent Use, I'd Get The Sage 2.
