Once a month, a group of us local mainlanders get together to show and tell about, and swap knives, and generally have a knife time! We meet at a big old cafeteria-style diner, where we can hide in a corner so we don't scare people when we snap our switchblades, and wave around our peanuts!!:D

I just got my computer back from the doctor, so I am able to scan pics, and participate in the Forum like a normal person again!!

The I*XL Dog groomer was a gift. The two Taylor Eye Witness knives, and that sweet li'l Joseph Rodgers came, along with a wad of cash, for some GEC Barlow knives!

(who was it who went through the marketplace calling, "New lamps for old!!"
Something to do with Aladdin I think!)

The Sheep/Lamb-foot is interesting, some Lambfoot taper, but nearly a sheepfoot.
The Joseph Rodgers is barely used. All in all, a nice haul!

Have you traded for anything interesting lately??
;)

Great haul Charlie! Got a scan of the other side of the groomer? It looks very similar to mine!

I have to admit I don't do too many trades. I'm more of an accumulator. Just can't seem to let anything go!

Beauties Charlie! I have to agree with eisman, that Rodgers is a stunner!

Nice haul Inspector C. Is that something like a stovepipe kick I see on the JR?:)

I am trading the other way Aladdin, old for new. They take advantage of us here out in the sticks.I grin. No pictures yet, forthcoming.

Very cool Charlie. That I*XL looks especially... ancient I think is the word. :D

Very knife Charlie....I mean, very nice Charlie....C how I did that?

I was able to make an amenable trade lately via the trading section of the exchange. I was able to obtain an H20 fixed blade for a small TX Jack and mini trapper. Both parties were pleased. I really just wanted to try out the small GEC fixed blades. It came with a gr8 sheath that has a clip and I'm happy with it. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow.

Very nice hall Charlie! Those are all great specimens.

Nice catch on the stovepipe kick, Lyle. I missed that at first.

How did they grind those groomers? I'm imagining a wheel with furrows similar to pinking shears.

Better to have loved, and kept your knives, than to have ever traded them off in the first place.

A mangling of an old quote, but I have traded some knives I really didn't want to get rid of, to get something I traded off a month later, and tried to get some knives back that that the new owner wasn't letting go for anything.

You're incorrigible Dan. Or as the security guard put it -

All great knives, and all interesting ones too Charlie, great to see them (and glad you got your computer fixed), I am going to be looking at them for a while  I wish we had knife clubs here, the nearest I get to it is the 'show and tell' sessions I have with ADEE or ScruffUK :)

Thanks for the nice comments, all of you!!

Here are some better views of my booty, including that grooming blade for Philllll:

I love the star and cross stamp on the Joseph Rodgers tang!

Thanks, Charlie! That Joseph Rodgers sure is minty!

Initially I thought the handles on mine had been replaced at some point, but they are very similar to yours so now I'm thinking they are probably original.

I'd say your handles are original also, Phil. That's cool that you have the one-hand notch. If you are holding a dog, you might need it!

Thanks, Buzz!

Thanks for the extra pics Charlie (and Phil), each and every one of those knives is quite fascinating I think. I've never seen anything like those IXLs. Very minty Joseph Rodgers :)

We need a Joseph Rodgers thread! ;)

I've been wondering about the grooming blades and if they were sharpened and how? One side only? Also, they seem to be for short haired critters, or am I just not understanding how they would be used?
