I was playing with my morpho and I thought...no other knife in their lineup, in my opinion, embodies the characteristics of a Benchmade so well. It's very "benchmady." What for Benchmade and the other major knife companies? I want to distinguish this from questions like which is the best/favorite/flagship of a company.

That's easy: any SAK :D

(BTW although I never handled any :( I think some Microtech OTF (like Scarab) may fit your definition)

Hey Guys..

I think there are several companys like this..

A few come to mind..

Fallkniven
Busse
Spyderco
Mora

I think my question is misunderstood. What particular knife is the best example of the design goals of a particular company? For instance, Spyderco loves leaf shaped blades (or reverse s), finger choils, slab G10...Benchmade loves balisongs, smooth G10, lots of pretty...and then what knife best embodies what you perceive to be the major attributes of that company?

For BM I'd have to say the Model 42 Balisong. I am old enough to still think "Butterfly" when I hear Benchmade.

For Spyderco I have to go Endura, the natural evolution of the original Worker.

CRK = Sebenza, without a doubt in my mind.

Buck = 110, simple as that.

Kershaw has really evolved from a Buck-wannabe into it's own entity, mostly thanks to the design work and influence of Ken Onion. Their re-branded flagship is probably the Leek.

My first thought when I read the title of this thread was: CRK= Sebenza this was the first thing that popped into my head! The rest followed.
Spyderco= Delica
Buck=110

Spyderco:
Manix, Endura, Dodo. I can't figure out which one is best. The Manix and Endura are self explainatory. The Dodo is highly effective, comfortable and it looks like it was built by a blind man, but it's still attractive.

Benchmade:
I'd have to say the 710

Kershaw:
Earlier this year, I might have said the Bump series. But now, I'll have to go with the Leeks.

Kabar:
USMC

CS (come on, some of their products are excellent at their price point):
Either the Voyager series or anything with a Wave :D(I had to say something anyway).

Buck 110-no doubt about that.

Leatherman Wave

Victorinowx multitool. You know, the one with multiple tools.

Spyderco - Endura
Benchmade- - 710 or 42 (it's a toss up)
Buck - I don't really need to put this one down do I?
CRK - Sebenza
Ka-bar - USMC
Case - Trapper of some sort
Victorinox - Soldier

These models are what define a company in my opinion.
