Im looking at a new knife, and I like the look of the sage 4 ironwood with titanium, but im also a little intrigued by the Domino with glass weave. Does anyone have either that cares to share any information on them, So I can make a decission easier, thanks.......Chris

I just watched a review of the knife and it looks really solid. The titanium into the ironwood is a great combination and everything from the blade to the lock looks like it all comes together nicely. If I had money to spend I would get one.

I've got the Domino and it is pretty awesome. I was actually considering those two exact knives at the time and decided on the Domino because I love flippers.

With that said, had the flipper not been as important a factor, I probably would've chosen the Sage 4. The Domino and Sage have very similar blade sizes and shapes, but the Domino has a disproportionately large handle and that wood/ti handle on the sage is just stunning.

Thanks for the feedback, Yes I do like the ti /wood combination myself. I wasnt looking for a flipper actually, I really wanted something in a classier look to carry if and when I get the chance to go out in the evenings. Any other suggestions in the 200 dollar price range that may fit the bill?

I like the look of both knives, but prefer the Domino. I like the Domino flipper and looks better. I think the Domino is also lighter.

I actually was also looking at the stretch with the blue nishijin glass fiber and damascus blade, which isnt a lot more, but id have to put a deposit on it, as its not out yet

Try to make sure that you will "like" a flipper. The "device" lever tends to shorten the useful length of the grip. I found out I don't like flippers. I had two Southards; sold them. Lots of folks love them, of course, and the Domino is very popular.
I have a Sage 2 titanium that I'm very fond of. I have large hands and prefer a larger grip, even though I don't feel the need for a blade much longer than 3.3" or so.
Wood slabs are pretty, but can be slippery, IMO. I really like plain titanium slabs. Just personal preference. I like the Sage 1 with the G10, the Sage 3 with carbon fiber, and I prefer and own a NIB Sage 2. One of my sons has a Sage 4 and loves it. It has a back-lock and it's not my first choice of lock systems, but that's why Spyderco offers four choices with various excellent lock systems and scale choices.
All of these are darned good knives. You will be happy with any of the ones that you are looking at.

I really am not interested in a flipper. Not saying its not a cool feature, but as an evening/night carry, its not a feature I would need for this application. I just watched a video on the ti sage 2, it is indeed a good looking knife

this is a kind of out of left field suggestion, but for a "real knife" that actually looks kind of classy, and it sounds like you like wood (OK that sounded wrong, but you know what I meant) how about a Wilson Combat ELC in cocobolo?

I don't know where you'd fondle one before you bought it, I actually just spotted a pic of one in the EDC thread and said to myself "what is THAT? DO WANT!"

Could you post the link to the knife please.....I'll have a look

If your looking at the sage 4 don't be concerned its to pretty to use. It, like any of the Sage series' are very capable knives.

If you want wood the S4 is your only choice but both the S1 & 2 are very elegant knives. The S1 is my "gentleman's knife" while still being a great EDC and if you like Ti the S2 is a great little frame lock. (Well for a 3" knife its actually on the larger side but [i own a sage 1 & 3] they fit perfectly in my size XL hands).

If you really want to go all out and don't mind waiting to find one for your $200 price watch eBay and here for a William Henry- any WH will be a capiable yet super light weight, thin and very elegant knife.

And one final suggestion- a BM 707 M390 blue w/ CF inlay is another great user but still very elegant looking.

Where can I find a ti S2

Anywhere that sells spyderco's, Sage1=carbon fiber liner lock, S2=Ti frame lock, S3= G10 "bolt" lock (similar to an axis lock), s4= wood/Ti bolsters back lock.

For a really awesome knife (for under your $200) get both a Sage 1 and 2 and swap right side scales, that'll give you a Ti lock side scale with a CF "presentation" side (then you can sell the vise-versa version that's left over to recoup some of the money).

Here is a link, but would suggest that you buy from any of our vendors that support this great forum. I've given this first link, as it has about 46 personal reviews, and easy references to the other Sage models at the bottom of the page. You can check various links for small price differences.
(( not a paid BF Dealer ))
Here is a listing of our supporting dealers... I would hope that you would give these good guys a chance. I try hard to buy from "our" supporting dealerships.

Check each model out carefully. They are all good, but you will be drawn to one model or lock-type more than another.

That is a good looking knife!

(Wilson Combat)

I thought so, on paper it looks like a good deal too with the Elm ax blade. Unfortunately other than the pics posted in the EDC thread, one Nutnfancy review video of an older G10 version (although he seemed to like it, compared it favorably to some Benchmades) and the mfgr's web site I couldn't find much more info on it. If you do get one I (and probably others) would appreciate your thoughts. If I had more disposable income I'd have bought it already but that price point is high enough (for me) I can't afford to make a mistake unless I'm sure I can sell it on without too much loss.
