Stephen Baldwin really throws in the movie Posse, starring Mario Van Peebles...his knife of choice was a Tru-Bal Bowie Axe. After getting past the black vulcanized fiber handles, the knife looked pretty traditional in that setting of the late 19th century.
I remember the first time I saw the flick and called Steve McEvoy to ask if he knew about it and he did'nt...when he saw the movie, he went out and bought the promo poster because Stephen was holding the knife at his side in it...REALLY COOL.
The only other movie I saw it really done in was a movie starring Ray Liotta...I forget the name, but it was a post apocalyptic story where he was a Special Forces Soldier sent to a prison island. In one scene, there was a big menacing guy throwing knives into a wall and drinking a mug of something...they looked like professional style knives.
Anyone know of any other movies where the throwing is really done as opposed to a special effect?
I am on file with a NYC weapons consulting company for the film industry and have been called a few times to do some stuff, but the director always cancels the act because of the perception of safety.
