Hello,

Currently I'm planing my trip to Italy. Usualy I have bad habit to bring a knife home from eatch trip :)

So, maybe someone coulde help me with knifes made in Italy ?
in general I'm looking for mid range (about 100$ or lower) folder (balisong woulde be ideal) made by italian company. Any sugestion ?
Or maybe there is some italian fixed blade that is "must get" ?

also any information abut italina knifes would be highly apreciated.

P.S. sorry for my Eanglish. my current PC don't have any wordprocessing software.

well, I am no expert myself....so I guess others will correct me if needed. But here is my 2 cents:
"Extrema ratio" is from Italy(although they are not in your price range and aren't very pretty).......
"Fox" knives will definately have some knives in your price range, some of their elishewitz designs look good IMO (you can have a look at their website: http://www.foxknives.com/ )
Also I'm sure that when you go into the local knifestores you'll find some more knives, but watch out for asian imports!

Have a good holiday & take care, Davy

thank you for your answers :) I deffinetelly look at fox, but I don't think I'll be able to get some usefull info from the localsellers. as I heard, generally people don't speak Eanglish in Italy, and my italian consist only of 3 words :)

BTW how is quality of these fox knifes ?

mambo
I think fox would be a good choice. I was stationed at Aviano AB Italy, wich is about 40k from maniago. I spent a fair amount of time in all the knife stores.Maniago is considered to be the knife capital of Italy. As far as English goes everywhere I went ,wich spans the whole country,I never had any trouble finding people who spoke it.

Jon Graham: nice to hear that Italians speak Eanglish :) (I remeber my wisit to France.. language was always the problem :)

maybe you could recomend few knife shops ? (most of the time I'll spend in Trieste, but will visit number of other cities)

and one more question if I may: what do Italian law think about carring 3" locking folder ?

Mambo,
Its been fifteen years since I left Italy, for me to be able to remember even the shops I went to often would be a miracle. If you make it to Maniago just go to the square you cant miss the knife stores.
while I was at the blade show this year some Italians bought one of our knives. They said they owned the largest knife store in Italy, It is in Milano the name is G.Lorenzi, the address is via Montenapoleone,9. Hope this helps.
