Knife... tossing?

This is my first post here... and i am not familiar with the kife community, or with specifics of a knife, but i have a set of 3 12 in competition style unwrapped handle throwing knives. i am decent at throwing them at targets, but my specialty is, well, i dont know what to call it, because from what ive seen people only flip knives in their hands and they go into the air little if none, as when i flip them, they barely touch my hands before being in the air again. is it still knife flipping?

Ok, Well as far as I can tell you are getting a single rotation from when the knife leaves your hand to when you catch right? It's kind of hard to figure out what you mean with your post? If anything could you post a video of what you are doing?

You have yourself three decently sized knives, do you also juggle? (I do knives, balls, clubs, machetes, hatchets and rings. )
 
Yes to both of you. it is usualy a single rotation and i often throw over my shoulder behind my back. I will try to get a video up as soon as possible, but i do not have on on hand. and unfortunatly i do not juggle the knives... i would if i could juggle three of anything.
 
Well if you are in the boulder/denver area there are a few juggling clubs in the area, (plus Wizards Chest in Cherry Creek sells juggling gear) plus there is also the Boulder Circus School as well.

about exactly.. Now that I've seen your video, I understand!
Damn! All I can say is damn! That is a very unique skill, that I probobly won't
be learning anytime too soon, I wouldn't even know where to begin..
You're beyond good at whatever you call it....

haha, thank you. Its about time somebody else could appreciate it. I just wish i knew what to call it so i could see if there is any other competition in the world

Yep, that's juggling one knife. I used to do similar with stiletto blades, smaller ones make for some insanely fast rotations (what an airplane does with barrel rolls), a lot of fun for sure, you're way better than I was.

That is not knife juggling. Your not simply juggling with one knife. You've stumbled upon something else entirely that I have never seen before. You've earned the right to call it whatever you like.

It reminds me of Micheal Moshen who invented contact juggling in the 1980s using crystal balls. Not acrylic. He owns and uses acrylic too but for his performances he only uses the best and a really good juggling store sells both. The Fushigi commercials are total B.S. by the way.

I don't know if I would call contact knife juggling, but that's the closest thing I can think of. Knife flipping is cool too. There is contact staff, contact poi, flow wand, contact juggling, toss juggling, but really what you do stands out and cannot be lumped in with anything else. Like I said. You invented something new. And it looks way cooler than the knife juggling I do, or have seen.

You should create a profile here at contactjuggling.org I'm sure they'll welcome you and be excited by what you've created.
 
post a video of what your talking about, im a bit confused about what your actually doing when tossing.
