Knife Warranty Question

I see that ESEE has a 'no questions asked' warranty on their blades, they even site an example where they replaced the knife after some idiot shot at it until it broke.

Do any other makers have this kind of warranty?

Not many that I know of or can remember off the top of my head. I may be wrong but I think that ESEE has an "everybody gets one chance", but if you repeatedly break the knives I don't know that they would continue to ship ya new ones. I might be wrong on that, it happens once in awhile.

Busse I think.

Busse Knife Group is proud to have the toughest warranty in the industry.

All Busse Knife Group blades are guaranteed for life against any and all unintentional MAJOR damage. Your knife will either be repaired or replaced at our discretion.

Please note that aftermarket modifications done to your knife outside of our shop that cause your knife to fail may void your warranty.

Busse Knife Group encourages extreme usage of our blades as they are without question "The Toughest Knives in the World". We have no rivals. You can use a Busse Knife Group blade as hard as you like and our warranty has you covered.

Rowen Made ESEE Knives No Questions Asked Warranty:
If you break it, we will replace it. Warranty is lifetime and transferable. In other words, we warranty the knife no matter how many times it's been traded, sold or given away - no sales receipt or proof of purchase required.A lot of folks have asked us how we can stay in business offering such great customer service and warranty protection. The answer is simple; we believe that American consumers, as a whole, are honest people. The occasional customers who are dishonest are few and far between, so even if we lose every once in a while due to dishonesty, our reputation of great customer service, regardless of the situation, brings us more good customers.ESEE KNIVES ARE NOT THROWING KNIVES! They are hardened to a higher Rockwell than throwing knives and will most likely break if thrown, possibly harming the user. So, do yourself and your ESEE knife a favor and DO NOT throw it. Using any knife not meant to be thrown as a throwing knife is idiotic! We would rather idiots not buy our knives.Note: We do not warranty our 440C Stainless Steel knives from abuse. It should be noted that 440C is not as flexible as our carbon steels. Any excessive flexing will cause the knife to break. We do not warranty against rust or normal wear and tear. Our carbon steel knives are made from 1095 High Carbon Steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional field knives, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest a dry film inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. We use a baked on powder coat on all of our coated knives. It is normal for the coating to wear with use.NOTE: The warranty does not apply to the Lite Machete since the blade of the machete is made by Imacasa in El Salvador. With that said, if you have any issues with the Lite machete, contact us and we will do our best to make it right.

ESEE's warranty is only as good as the company. They are only about 20 years old. They have yet to reach their second generation of ownership. Many companies don't last past the first. You should consider that, if the warranty is very important to you. If you haven't noticed, their liberal warranty policy is reflected in their price, just like Busse.

Buck has a very liberal warranty and is on its third generation.

Buck

We warranty each and every Buck knife to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the knife, and we will repair or replace with a new Buck knife, at our option, any Buck knife that is defective. Buck Knives does not warrant its products against normal wear or misuse. Buck Knives are not intended to be used as hammers, chisels, pry bars or screwdrivers. If your knife was damaged due to misuse, our repair department can analyze the damage and repair it for a reasonable fee. If your knife is unable to be repaired, we will extend a one- time courtesy offer, allowing you the option to purchase a new knife for 50% off of our MSRP price listed on the website, excluding any custom knives or web specials.

I have dealt with Strider Customer Service on two occasions. On both, the company repaired the knife, replaced the blade on one, put in a new pivot on the other, and NEVER charged me a penny. I sent the knives with an offer to pay, as I had purchased both folders in this condition...rather unknowingly.
Strider guarantees the knife for the LIFE of the KNIFE. Who else, anywhere, does that?

Benchmade, for two

Many companies have extremely good warranties, that will cover your knife just fine, but they often have idiot clauses. I think they would like to cover everything no matter what, but in todays world of internet jack asses purposely trying to break knives no matter what it takes for a cute video, you do have to draw the line somewhere.
