This Tag Heuer Aquaracer that I got from Matt (Charlie Mike) seems to match well with my DDR Madd Maxx III:

I wouldnt put a Seb with Rolex. I'd put a nice Todd Begg or Darrel Ralph with it. I'd consider a Seb more along the lines of a Movado or something. But a nice William Henry would do too.

I was nearsighted by thinking of only production knives, but you are right.

... and My Sea Dweller is not for trade ;)

I guess a SAK would go with my Suunto watch, compas, barometer. Hum, maybe they should put a can opener on that watch.

I'd say Rough Riders are a lot like Alpha Watches. They're both made in China, well built, very traditional, and once you pick up one, you gotta have more.

Guess I'll play too. DDR's with Rolex Sea Dweller.

Dare I say Benchmade reminds me of a lot of the quality features (and value) found in Omega? I've owned a Seamaster and Aqua Terra. The Seb reminds me of the qualities found in the brand new GMT II C/new Sub (ceramic bezel, supersized case, new clasp) and Daytona.

Only true individual knife artisans who build knives for beauty (using precious metals;damascus blades; etc) and less for function remind me of brands such as Patek, Vacheron, Audemars, FP and so on. There are as many watch brands out there as there are knife makers.

That's why I will never buy any art knives. Same with my watch, I always try to place function over form... but it is nice when they meet in the middle like my Rolex and DDR.

I think the Seb - Rolex comparison is apt. Both are solid examples of their craft that cost more than they should and are considered status symbols by many. (puts on fire-retardant suit)

If you have a Rolex you did place form over function. There's nothing it does better than a Seiko auto-diver (or even a cheap quartz watch for that matter) that's a fraction of the price. I say that as someone who has owned several expensive watches, a couple of Rolex amongst them... :)

The brand/bling really didn't come into the purchase. I wanted the best, researched it, and this was it.
