Knife with wooden bolster?

I already have cnc-carved one of the knife handle sides of this stl-model, and it looks good, but would it be advicable to continue with the wooden bolster? It looks like it will just cover the knife blade, and my question is whether it will be enough to keep the knife safe, or will the knife maybe fall out of the bolster when the knife is carried in a belt?

I think you're using "bolster" incorrectly. Seems like you're talking about a sheath or scabbard.

There have been plenty of wooden sheaths in the past. I don't think they're quite as practical as a leather or kydex, but your design seems to be more of an art piece. Looks fine to me.
