Finally got a chance to take a look at my favorite knife publication, KNIFE WORLD. If you enjoy leaning about old, old Schrades, Schrade-Waldens, Ulsters, ect., you will enjoy this magazine.
Page 13 carries two small articles of interest to us. The launch of Canal St. Cutlery is announced, and I know it has been posted here before, but here is the phone number of the new company: 845-647-5900.
Also, there is a short about Imperial-Schrade/Taylor. Article states that some old Schrade employees have been kept on board to ease the transistion. Also, plans for knives at least carrying the markings of our favorite knife are mentioned: Some made in Asia, some made here in the US, including a high grade lineup intended for the collector market.
If you have never read Knife World, I think you owe it to yourself to do so. Great articles by fine authors. Bernard Levine's 'Whutizzit' column is always fascinating (our LT has had a couple of mentions in it) The editor is Mark Zelinski, one of the finest knife people you'll ever meet, C. Huston Price is the publisher, and there is a great monthly column by Frank Trzaska dealing with Military knives. It's in newspaper format, which I like, the pages not glaring back at you as you read. Also a classified section; I made a great sale through it once.
Something to think about... Will Stewart Taylor ever discover there is a website here, with his new company's name on it? Let's keep it a secret, huh?
Phil
