Knife "X" redux

What are some knives that when they first came out you loathed, but later iterations were great?

For me it's.......

Paramilitary to PM2
Ti-Military to Ti-Military with insert
Strider old lockbar to new lockbar
and the initial sharp edged ZT 56X series to later softer edged versions

and then oddly, I loved the original CRK umnum, and dislike the updates

The Shane Sibert Pocket Rocket (custom). The first ones were very, very clunky-looking. Now, they're the nicest (in my opinion) 'overbuilt tactical' framelocks out there.

I prefer Microtech's reissue of the Halo II in '07 (?) to the original Halo IIs.

I like the current grind style of the production CQC-7 better than the ones from '98-'99.
