ok what knives out there can you just not beat for the money. First comes to mind most spydercos. I bought a Native III for $40 and its built like a rock and will do just about anything. VG-10 steel. Boughta crawford kasper folder for $60 and found out it was 420j2 steel. what a rip. sold it.

I think that the one knife you can't beat for the money, and there will probably be wide agreement, is an Opinel.

Aye has to be an Opinel. I don't think anything else comes close to it for value for money.

Opinel
BM Pika & Mini Pika
KA-BAR Dozier
BK&T BK7 & 9
Camillus EDC
BM Monochrome
Most of the Victorinox line. On a cost : Fit & Finish ratio they would be up there with CRK.
Cold Steel SRK
BM Ambush
Spyderco Native in S30V

CRKT M16 line. Fantastic price/performance ratio. CRKT owes Kit Carson so much he should practically own the company by now.

everybody forget DOUKDOUK !
same blade quality than Opinel, but handle are so thin that you forget you carry it !
I agree also about Opinel and Sak (considering price range "less than 10 usd new")

Ranger RD series,
BM monochrome,
BM Griptilain,
710HS...That is a very nice knife with a awesome steel and it can be found for like $110

TBG

Benchmade D2 minigrip.....
any AUS8 M16/M21.
The VG10 Centofante I think is an incredible deal, really.
The Spyderfly is by leaps and bounds the best deal on balisongs.
I think the S30V native is a great deal also.
The kershaw storm is almost such a good deal it's underground.
The Vapor is a pretty good deal
Byrd knives are pretty incredible for 20 dollars

Opinel, of course
AG Russell Hunter's Scalpel
Schrade OldTimers, the 'real' ones
vintage Bruckmann knives
