I’m pretty new to the knife making world and the more and more I learn, the more and more I realize that I don’t know about.

One thing that has pissed me off a lot is the amount of knife making suppliers out there that have marketed themselves as having products only made in the USA but later I find out it’s actually made in Pakistan or somewhere else. This needs to be stopped or at least policed.

I’ve been ordering a lot of knife blanks off of knifekits.com which I have been impressed by for the most part...

But today I received my order and there was a big fat Made in China sticker on the knife blank.

This was beyond upsetting to me. I only wish to support artists that are based in the USA. Does anyone have any recommendations for USA made knifeblanks? Thank You!

Yes, you make them. Buy the steel, cut out a profile, grind it, heat treat it. finish grind and sharpen.

If the marketing or specifications are incorrect, that's ugly, I totally agree.

I've been taking a look at the website and other than the specifications of some products stating 'made in USA' (and many don't state this), the rest of the website doesn't seem to make a big deal out of 'only made in the usa'.

You stated yourself that you have already ordered a lot of knife blanks from them and were impressed. So maybe someone made an error. (Either you or the website). Is that one mistake really so unforgiveable? If the mistake was on their part, just return it. Look at it in perspective. If this really is 'beyond upsetting' to you, I guess the rest of your life must be pretty awesome.

If you really want to support 'artists based in the USA', the knifemakers' market is probably your best bet.

Jantz make some of their own blanks in house I believe. Ya might check them.

Is it possible that it could be just a misplaced sticker from a different product?
