The TC4 "Assailant"
This is the "other" new stable mate to the GX6 and GPC1000 kits that are coming out in June. We've been holding a tight lip on this one, as we didn't want to show our full hand all at once.
Here's the scoop:
The TC4 ("Assailant") is our latest kit design. This model is a brand new fixed blade utility knife kit from KnifeKits.com. This knife can be used for hide- out self-defense, hunting and is even highly suitable for everyday cutting chores. The steel is 440 stainless steel. We feel this material fits the bill for a blade of this size and "it takes a wicked edge". Re-sharpening is very friendly, also. The blade finish is superior, even though we require a super smooth glass bead finish from the factory. Having a great finish underneath the glass bead allows for easy hand or machine satin finishing, as an alternate to the glass bead finish. The pins supplied with the kits are 100% aluminum. We have found that aluminum is one of our favorite pinning materials as it finishes smoothly with the handle materials. This virtually eliminates that "hump" feeling that happens with stainless and other handle pins after finishing.
