Going to the Badgerland Knife show later today in Janesville WI and I've run into a couple of issues.

1) What knife do you carry to a show just in case someone wants to see it and you don't want to be seen with junk in front of people who can actually tell the difference? Does it match your outfit? I've changed my mind 2 or 3 times so far this morning as far as what to take and finally settled on a Damascus Snody Hybrid/Resistor with a DDR GH MT as a close second.

2) If you've got some stuff you want to trade/sell is it tacky to take it with you? If it's not tacky to take it is it tacky to ask anyone other than dealers if they would be interested in trades?

3) Do you take a camera? This show is usually pretty crowded and I feel like a dork taking pictures of makers displays and whatnot.

Just some of the stuff us knife geeks gotta worry about.:o (Or maybe it's just me.:( :) ) Any opinions?

1. Gossman Knives EDC necker or Charles May Fireant, either worn around hte neck.

2. No that's what a show is, to "Buy, Sell and Trade", at least that's how they advertise them around here. It never hruts to ask, if someone has something you want, or they want something you have, no harm in asking about trading.

3. I've never took a camera, but as long as you ask if it's OK, most makers wold probably not care.

Hi! Well, when I went to Blade, I did take a camera, but was so busy looking at things, that I never took one single picture. And I would have asked the makers if it was OK to take pix before doing so.As to which knife to carry, I never really had any issue chosing one. I did take one knife with me to Blade, WITH the intention of selling, which I did. Now, if I was going to the smaller knife show that is around here, and I know that some of my fellow forumites were going to be there, I might bring my custom knives to show.

What, go to a show with nothing to trade or sell? Then you can't agonize over what bag to carry them in.

The cheap shapeless nylon, or the new ACU murse, or an issue tanker bag, or the mini-pilots carryall, or an issue helmet bag with antique brass zippers, or a Camelbak, or the Bosnia three day pack?

Much less which shirt - unit crest t-shirt, RG polo, or something completely off the wall, coordinating jeans, mountaineering, or military pants, foot wear, accessories, the hat - MHP SWAT, CB, or Brit M43 style?

These days I lean toward a clean pair of Big Smith coveralls and a lumberyard hat. Lots of pockets and the look on someone's face when you pull out a $400 tactical EDC . . .

Maxpedition Fatboy and work clothes since I'm leaving from here.:) ;) Would have been all decked out in Knife clothes but they don't fly while I'm at work.:(

1) This question kinda brings you back to high school, doesn't it? Bring whatever you're comfortable with and if people gush over it, so much the better. I'm carrying my Kershaw Groove to a show this weekend. It's not a heavy hitter custom piece, but it is my favorite knife at the present time. If someone decided to turn their nose up at it, that's their problem.

2) No sense not bringing something you might be looking to trade or sell, as Confederate said that's the basis for the whole thing.

3) Same as above, no sense not bringing it. If there's something you really want a pic of then you'll have the opportunity. Better than getting home and saying "I wish I could've gotten a shot of that subhilt..." Also, pics that could be shown are a forum like this are always nice for folks who don't get a chance to attend the show or are curious about what's there.
