I posted this on the Custom Knife Forum and did not get any interest. If you know anybody who would like a regular job making knives and a good living at the same time, tell them about this.

We have an opening for a skilled knifemaker who is tired of the problems of working alone and is ready to join the secure world of 8-5 at good pay plus overtime, health insurance, profit sharing, 401k etc.

Send resame and photos of currant work to

A. G. Russell agr@agr3.com (personal email) or

In addition to the interesting posts here we have had 4 emails from serious people, I expected to hear from at least 20 people. I know full time knifemakers who do good work who make little more than minimum wage when costs of going to shows is added into the cost of materials and supplies and deducted from their overall sales.

I am looking for someone who will work hard and stay at least long enough to return the expense of teaching finer skills.

If you guys have any question as to what Mr. Russell can do for your knifemaking career, just read the intro on Steve Johnson's page:

A.G. I have a friend that would be perfect for this job only at the moment he's away at ABS school and probably won't see your post for another week or so.

I can't speak for him of course, but I will tell you he was a very talented maker before going to ABS. He's from Arkansas and he's the stepson of Bob Ogg, so you know he was raised right. I'm the proud owner of one of his knives and I expect only great things from him. I think working with you would be mutually beneficial. I just hope you don't come to a decision before he gets a chance to respond.
