Knifemaker sales?

I am not a knife maker. Nor am I in the business of selling or reselling on a retail level. I do however occasionally find things that I know knifemakers can use, and I'd like to make them available without having to send them each an email.

Why can't I post such items in the "knifemakers materials" or "tools" sections?

Got it. But why should I need a Knifemaker membership if I'm not a knifemaker?

You're doing the makers a dis-service by refusing to allow other members to sell them items they can use.

Spark is doing the Knifemakers a service by maintaining Bladeforums for very reasonable fees for different memberships.
You might prefer he provide all this for less or for free, but his service providers charge him real money to keep BF open.

I have a paid membership, and have had for several years. I have never had a problem with any of the prices "Spark" has levied.

I don't have a problem with certain forums being limited; I think that's a good idea. I have posted in "Shop Talk" and various other forums on the Knifemaker site. I have bought over 100 custom knives from members of this forum and never had a problem with any of that. I have provided several custom makers with opportunities to purchase tools and machinery also (not from me, but by putting the parties in touch with each other).

I do however think that when I find a supply of something that normally is unavailable, and which I have seen makers try to purchase, it would be nice to offer it to them. I am not trying to make a profit, not trying to run a business, just trying to provide members of this board with an opportunity without making it available to the general public. The idea that someone must be a knife maker (or in a related business) to sell to a knife maker is not logical.

No need to respond to this, I've sent the emails out to the guys I know will be interested.
