O.K. maybe I'm dense but I haven't been able to figure out when I need to renew my Knifemaker membership here on the boards. Can anyone clue me in? Will there be a renewal email notice?

Also while I'm at it, when I go to upload a picture directly to the board all I get are clickable links to the picture rather than having the picture inserted in the thread. Am I doing something wrong?

Guy, you'll get an email notice when you need to renew your membership.
As far as the pix, to have em show up here you have to find a photo hosting site and upload them there and post the using html code by clicking the IMG icon just under where it says SIZE. I use Picture Trail and really like it. Here's a link to the site. They offer a free trial membership so you can check it out to see if it suits your needs.

Once you have pix uploaded there, click on "More Options" and then "Image URLs for Auctions and Posting To Other Sites". Then choose the album the pic is in and click go. Then you can copy the url to the pic you want to post to BFC and post it here using the IMG icon.
Gimme a holler if you need any help!

I understand that a lot of people aren't getting notified before their subscription runs out.
You can post photos from your hard drive, but the way the servers are overloaded, they have it set up for the time being, to show up as an attatchment.
:(

I'm not sure I know what I'm writing about but ........ in checking the subscription section, there is a small section that seems to advise renewing subscriptions before expiring. There are selections for all types membership there. I notice this because I am wanting to subscribe myself. I want a knifemaker membership but feel it a bit presumptuous at this stage of my apprenticeship.

If you look at your profile (click on the profile button under one of your posts) you'll see a date showing when your subscription will run out. If there's no date, it means we haven't gotten around to putting it in yet... so keep an eye on when your membership changes. When it's renewed, we'll put the date in then.

Not the best of methods - but it's the best we have.

Thanks Spark, I'll just hang loose for now. I checked my profile and the info on the renewal date is not there yet.
