I am not too sure,if I can ask here on this subforum for knifemaker willing to discuss /possibly take up on project? P.M. please, Thank you

You might want to be a bit more specific.......there are a LOT of different makers who visit this subforum, in all priceranges with a host of different skills. Things might be helpful if you indicate the kind of project you're looking to have done.

Yes,you are probably right. What I am looking for is :

Large scaled - up replica of G.Hibben Rambo lll (close as possible) knife of overall length 21-22 inch with leather sheath.

Knife should be fully functional very well dually heat treated, razor sharp blade and mirror polished finish.

Construction:

Steel - welcome to offer or preferably 440C stainless or 5160 high carbon spring steel

Full flat tang, nickel silver/duralumin or stainless steel hardware (guard & pommel) handle material (wood or black micarta)

Sheath: genuine leather with front pocket for small sharpening stone and one or two loops to hold half inch diameter, six inch long firesteel rod.D ring belt system...

Price-range:

Simply - affordable to me,but worth to make it for knifemaker,so he can make money on it.I am not looking for expensive, famous or highly collectible names.Rather I am looking for experienced beginner, with all necessary tools and knowledge-for who this project would be real pleasure and who would enjoy making it.Preferably with experience of making large knives and some photos of previous work.Time of finish is not an issue to me,but quality is....

I've seen them on ebay for as low as $245., looks like they are make with 440C too. Doubt you would find a knife maker who could go so low. Just a thought though.

Thanks for your reply David

Knives you seen on ebay are United Cutlery (costing 90,-USD new) China made wallhangers "420J2 steel", similar to Master Cutlery up-scaled (13inch blade) versions available on Knifecenter for 104,-USD.

What I have in mind is real knife, made to last, with full tang, good steel and heat treatment.

I would imagine David, as a knifemaker, can figure out the difference between 90 dollar China-made 420J2 wallhanger and a $245 440C knife on eBay and is talking about the latter.
