I thought it might be both fun and interesting for knifemaker's to reveal their favorites of the knives they've made over the years.

Collectors feel free to post up images of your All Time Favorites of particular knifemaker's knives. Can be one's you own or not.
Please feel free to discuss your's or other's choices, state your reasons or just chime in.

The purpose of this thread is not necessarily to pick a knifemaker's best knife of all time but more just to share our personal favorites.

I will start with some of my favorites, and as always I thank you in advance for your interest and participation.

Bill Moran: I feel the ST-24 was not just Mr. Moran's best design but arguably the best Bowie design of all time.
And this more simplistic example is my favorite ST-24. I beleive it's owned by a collector in China.

Russ Andrews: I was fortunately able to handle and examine this outstanding Bowie and it's shear perfection.
Would love to own it some day.

John Cohea: John has come so far in a short time and this set is a great example of that.

Jerry Fisk: Commissioning knives and being involved in the creative process is part of the overall enjoyment of collecting for me.
This set is very special to both Jerry and I as the Bowie won Jerry's only Blade Show Best Bowie award. It also won Blade Magazine Bowie of the Year.

Kyle Royer:This was Kyle's most difficult project to date at the time he created it and he pulled it off to the highest degree.

Steve Johnson: This is just a GREAT Hunter by a GREAT knifemaker. I believe it's owned by a collector in Hawaii.

Jay Hendrickson: Jay learned from Bill Moran and this fully dressed ST-24 is absolutely beautiful.
I believe it's owned by a fortunate collector in China.

Bruce Bump: This is one of my favorite pieces and I really enjoyed being involved with Bruce on this project.
This is Jere Davidson engraving and inlay at it's best. I actually went to Jere's shop when this piece was being made.
Amazing what he can do with a hammer and chisel.

Mike Craddock: Mike's another maker who has come so far. A beautiful piece with my favorite damascus pattern.
Don't know who owns this beauty.

It's always tough to pick all time favorites but here are three of mine:

W2 & Campo Meteorite damascus (the meteorite was very red short and difficult to work)--

This one I had to bend the ivory inlet to match the curvature of the bone handle to keep from grinding the edges of the inlet (which was cut flat) thinner than I wanted--

I hammered most of the blade of this Kris on the horn of the anvil since there isn't much that is straight on it (on an official Kris with this number of curves in the blade was for the accomplishment of your goals in life)--

I guess that I liked this three because of the challenge of them.

Gary, I would have guessed that the Kris was going to be one of your favorites, however I also thought that one of your recent
kick-butt Historic Renditions would have also been at the top. I like Ring Guards!

You're right that I have liked making the historic knives. I almost included this one when I posted:

I love Moran knives for sure here is one of my all time favorites of his, the MD camp knife. I also like the Southwestern bowie. This photo is from the display at Smokey Mountain Knife works in TN.

And this is my best knife to date, forged 5160, wrought iron and curly maple with silver wire.

Gary, that's the one I was thinking about!

It's difficult to choose but some really stand out.

I bet it is difficult Chuck, you picked 5 beauties, I remember the Moran folder.

Steve, the curly maple and crown stag Moran has always been one of my favorites and how could anyone not like the Southwest.
Nice choice on your knife and sheath, love your silver wire inlay.

Thanks for sharing guys.

Kevin, that damascus ST24 in the wooden box that one of the brethren posted on here a while back is the cat's meow IMO.

Great knives guys, I'm enjoying seeing if the ones you pick are the same as my picks.
Robert your first depicted is my favorite as well as is Claudio's pick.

Awesome knives! Great thread, I will have to put some thought into this before I post as I am waaaay overtired.

This is an AWESOME idea for a thread. I really liked Claudio's survival knife and his kukri rendition. It seems bowies are the most popular though.

I've seen a lot of my favorites in person and I do not know if there are any pictures. But here are a few of which i am aware . .

My All-Time Favorite Knife by Jay Hendrickson:

I have seen all of these up close and in person.

My All-Time Favorite Knife by Don Hanson is the first one he showed above.

I have never been a maker to go overboard, or really elaborate with my knife design. I like simple materials that speak well, together.

In no particular order:

I was honored to be the first maker chosen to make the CKCA Club knives of the year:

A Bowie that just worked:

The knife that won Best In Show at the Ohio Classic in '10. I twisted this steel in the forge and it gave it some phenomenal activity within the twist I have never seen before or been able to duplicate.

A knife I made in Tribute of my good friend Larry Bailey. Just before he died, and for about a year ahead of that, he had been hounding me to make any ol' kind of a frame handle.

One for a good friend in Texas:

Yep - this one:

My favorite hunter:

This went to the same guy who got the Lone Star with the inlay:

I think my favorite Bowie:

This one just won't let me go:
