Hi im looking for some knifemaking channels on youtube. I know of two that i really like and that is "walter sorrels" and "trollskyy". Im looking for more how to channels than people just ranting or showing 2 second steps of everything. And im not looking for that tactical or zombie bullshit :) So if im making atleast a little sense and you know any channels that fit that description please do share!

Man at arms is pretty good. I don't know of any real instructional vids besides Walter Sorrels though.

You could just buy dvds...

Gough customs is good, and he posts here occasionally.
I also follow: Caleb White Knives, Walter Sorrels, White Bone Knives, Nick Wheeler, Pave Custom Knives, Chandler Dickinson, Jacklore knives (watch the videos of his process on Zed Outdoors's channel), and Ian Atkinson (leatherwork).

I think the best thing about watching other makers' processes is seeing how they differently handle similar problems, and picking and choosing techniques to learn from.

I don't really get into background music, multiple cameras, or any real editing, but I've got several vids geared towards knifemaking and various other tips and tricks.... You may find something useful.

Thank you so much for all the great tips! And i do agree! I havent started myself yet but i will soon so right now im trying to soak up all the information and tips i can.

I like your style! And i like that your workshop is a little messy, i bet mine will be too! (if i can ever afford one) But great work and keep it up! :)

Nick Wheeler's videos are not quite as discouraging as the old Bill Moran "swing a hammer a few times and a darn near finished blade with a spine thicker than the original stock even though I never hit the spine will jump off the anvil" ones, but he is still doing the "now do this exactly like I am showing you and you will never get a knife that looks like mine because, well, i am that much better than you" thing. But not at all in an unfriendly arrogant or demeaning way. He just IS that much better than you will ever be. He can't help himself. :D

Caleb white's videos are great, also look into Sugar Creek Forge....they post build along videos, how tos and more!

regardless of the style knife you are making, any video is valuable in giving insight on the process and approach, don't dismiss a video or maker just because they dont make your style....if you are learning, learn all you can:-)

Pardon me for rekindling a 3 year old thread, but it seems many new knifemaking youtubers have emerged and I would like to see if any of you have additional channels to suggest.

Simple Little Life is one I've been following that hasn't yet been mentioned. He has a nice setup for stock removal.

Lower key channels without such fancy setups include OUTDOORS55 and The Art of Craftsmanship.

simple little life is another.

he does some long detailed builds, rapid builds and tool reviews

Ekim Knives is another good one with detailed instruction. He hasn't put anything up in a while though

Alex Steel does general blacksmithing on all sorts of different things. Less educational but fun videos to watch and extremely well produced. .

He was already mentioned, but he's making frequent video uploads these days: check out Kyle Royer, especially if you're into making ABS style knives: https://www.youtube.com/user/KyleRoyerKnives/videos

Also check out Stuart Smith, one of the most helpful knife making channels I've come across:
https://www.youtube.com/user/SamuraiStu2/videos

For culinary knives check out some of Don Nguyen's vids:

Check out Liam Hoffman's older videos, I liked his vid content and style much more before he moved into the newer shop over a year back, but there are still some interesting more recent ones:

Karl Andersen has number of very insightful take-down construction videos scattered throughout his channel:
https://www.youtube.com/user/KarlBAndersen/videos

Neels Van Den Berg is another South African ABS bladesmith who has some great videos on his channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtTcHakMOyezi2rjKP5nS9Q/videos

NESMforged (New England School of Metalwork) has some excellent bladesmithing videos, as well as other interesting blacksmithing vids:
https://www.youtube.com/user/NESMforged/videos

Van Clifton
(Host of Arctic Fire) has some excellent and more specific videos about certain aspects of swordsmithing and bladesmithing:
(for the most recent Arctic Fire full video series, you may have to go to Don Fogg's "Bladesmithsforum" forums where they're posted up)
https://www.youtube.com/user/JimVanClifton/videos

There are a lot of other channels with maybe only one or a few excellent videos posted throughout the years, but I won't bother trying to share all of those individual vids.

I have a few playlists I've added to over the years on my channel. If you're interested in seeing knife shop tours, check out my playlist showing about 70 of those here lol: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRXwH4gb88tr5Z1k-vBgYv-T7Xn3lzFYt

If you're interested in learning more about specific knife makers and their work, check out this other playlist I've accumulated over the years as well:

Also, I'll reiterate and quote what Rival1314 mentioned above, as I fully agree with him:

regardless of the style knife you are making, any video is valuable in giving insight on the process and approach, don't dismiss a video or maker just because they dont make your style....if you are learning, learn all you can:)
