July 12-14 Orlando, FL 33rd Annual Knifemakers’ Guild Show, Marriott Orlando World Center

I live about 250 miles away and I'm thinking of going.

Has anyone been?

Is it worth the trip?

What's it like compared to Blade in Atlanta?

Yes without a doubt it is one of the better shows in the U.S.
It is not as large as Blade simply because there are no production companies attending. What you do get is a large gathering of makers of all types of knives.

I hope you get a chance to go and enjoy it.

If you like handmade knives this is where you get to see a room full of the best makers and handmade knives in the world.

If some free passes would help entice you to come down, e-mail me and I will be glad to send you a couple.

I noticed my e-mail didn't show up in my profile. I tied to edit it in? If that doesn't work just reply here.

Great show,Great makers and lots of goodies.I go every year just to stock up on materials.Hope to see everyone there.Dave

Only if you like seeing some of the greatest knives out there and meeting the people that make them. Otherwise no.

Any show that has the background of the guild is a show to see. You will see the best of stock removal knives as well as the top forged blades. What ever turns your crank, Your bound to see it at the Guild show. They may squabble like a bunch of two year olds but they do produce top quality knives.

Heck yeah!! I'm flying down, all the way from Northern Indiana.

I'll be looking for you Jim_L_Clifton, remember our plan? We'll score every Snody in the house!!!!

I lived close to Orlando. I would love to go to the show. Will there be knives I can actually wreck my credit card with? :)

I do love to buy pretty toys......

I imagine it's just a door charge to get in right? Marriott World Center... that the one by the airport isnt it?

thanks.

You can wreck more than the credit card there, you could sell the car, mortgage the house. You will love it and the Marriott is on the southside not the one by the airport.Dave:D

Worth the trip every time!

About the cover charge--find someone with the July issue of The Cutting Edge® and make a copy of the free 3 day pass inside on Page 5. Save you a few bucks.

It's the Marriot located just kinda outside of Disneyworld. Bring the family and make a mini-vacation of it.:D

It is SOOOOOooooo worth the trip it isn't even funny. Bring a ton-o-bucks cuz yur gonna see about a hundred knives you'll say you can't live without. I usually see about that many. Oh to be wealthy!:(

Meet a lot of the Best in the world. If I lived 500 miles away I would still go.:)

Oh, I'm going alright. I'll be the bearded older fat veteran with a limp and a cane and very wide eyes! I'd wear a ballcap, but hope to score at least one there! (I collect em)

Friday is the only day I can go however. work bekons. start time 9am?

Leo,
Believe me"the pleasure was all mine"! Toys!! Had to stay away from Blues, he knows everyone & one of his main goals is to corrupt me!
Went up Fri.met you,Sniperboy,Dan,got to see & talk to Ernie,Mickey,Sal & some other friends & drove back to Miami Fri at 4pm! Had to fight NOT to buy from Patton(great guy)Mick,Wayne,Dozier,& a few others!Half way home started to turn around & go back, kicking myself for letting a few go But there is always BladeArt!hee! Also, hopefully next year I'll have more $$$ & be at the Guild!! Jim,

Don't know where I found the strenght to resist buying a Dozier's Arkansas Toothpick, which I've been wanting for quite some time...

Some of the nice folks I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time (besides yourself, of course ;)): Mickey Yurco, Jerry Hossom, Rob Patton, Ernest Emerson... Fellow forumite Liong Mah... Though I left empty-handed, it sure was a good time! :)

Leo
BTW, loved your Balisongs!

wish i could have gone.
amy-i want a full and complete update from you and paul ASAP...and dont forget to show me all the goodies. :D
