I hope this hasn't beed discussed before. I am new to the forum. I searched but didn't see anything. I was just curious if any of you had seen this.....

http://www.cutleryscience.com/reviews/green_beret.html

This guy basically has nothing good to say about the knife and I was wondering if Chris had responded to this reveiw. It shows a link to a Harsey rebuttal but the link didn't work. I have used CRK one piece knives for years and have never had a problem. My Pacific is the first knife from CRK that wasn't A2 tool steel, or the ATS34 of my old Sebensa.

I somtimes wonder about these "destructive" knife tests, where the knife is judged on it's ability to do jobs it was never intended for. ie: Axe,shovel, hammer, pry bar ect. while I will admit it may show which steels can take such abuse I don't know that it has a real world application. I suppose if I was stranded on an island with only a knife I would probably end up useing it in ways it was never intended.

Anyway just curious what you guys thought of this test or know of the validity of the tester ( who is this guy?) and if anyone that has first hand experience with the knife has any concerns. Thanks.

Been discussed to death, search "Cliff Stamp" on this forum. "Cutlery Science" is a term used loosely at best.

I read it. Hasn't made me decide to sell either of my CRK fixed blades. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
If you read enough of his posts it appears he has nothing good to say about Chris Reeve's abiltiy to make knives. Yet, CRK produces some of the best knives around.

There seems to always be an "expert" out there who feels he should be heard. Since I don't plan on chopping through a concrete block with any of my knives I think I will be OK. Anyone who has talked to Chris can tell he knows what he is doing. One of the hazards of the internet is anybody with a website can say anything about who and what they want.

We are not going to go through this again. Use the search function and you'll find a bunch of topics on this very subject.
