In my search for slipjoints and traditional pocketknives, I have found many models and styles that I enjoy. Unfortunatly, I can only take it so far as to how these blades handle in person, visualising their actual size and shape and general feel from the confines of the computer.

Are there any knife shops that carry traditional pocketknives and slipjoints around Lakewood, CO? I would like to visit one and handle some blades in person before I drop some cash.

Thank you all, you are a generous group

I don't know of any place in Lakewood but have you checked out Bass Pro? or Sportsman's Warehouse? Should be worth the drive sometime.

I was thinking about Bass Pro and SW but I am unsure whether or not they would have them. Whenever I went (though my memory is foggy), they didn't have too much of a selection. When I find the time or get the opportunity I really should check 'em out though...

Don't forget Gander Mountain, they have a moderate selection. +1 for Sportsmans Warehouse.

I regularly make the drive to both Sportsman's Warehouse and Bass Pro.

Another option is McGuckins in Boulder. they have a few.

Unfortunately, not many dedicated knife shops left anywhere in the metro area. TBH, w/o Googling it, I don't personally know of any which are still in business. Besides the already mentioned outdoors stores and others like Dick's, I think Murdoch's might have some as well.

Theres a really nice little archery/knife shop on like 53rd&Sheridan in the strip mall on E.side of Sheridan ,it's cool and they do have some slipjoints there ,he's a little pricey but he does negotiate-real nice guy

Any idea what it is called?

There is a knife shop out in the Littleton area. Outside of that I have had pretty good luck just going out to the Mile High Fleamarket on the weekends.

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear. Tom Clum and his sons own the place, and a nicer bunch of folks you will not find. They are primarily a traditional archery shop, but they do have a bunch of knives, too. It's worth the trip. Tell 'em Gene said hi.
