I just got an email, and I am very glad they sent it, from Knifeworks stating that their laser engraving does not show up very well on ESEE products.

So I am asking anyone who has used there services for ESEE please post up a review and hopefully a picture.

I have seen some threads from people stating they have used it but did not post pictures as well a member who had 2 Izulas engraved and they looked great but did not say where.

I have PM's into those people, but making the collective for info bigger is always better.

I appreciate Knifeworks honesty and have and will buy from them again. Just trying to get a Izula engraved as a gift for someone who will not accept $$$.

thanks
dave

KnifeWorks has different types of Lasers than Rowen so that's probably the issue. With that said, Roger is top shelf when it comes to be honest to deal with. None better.

I bought an EsKabar and had my name etched into it. It came out looking great. I know that the coating is a Becker/Kabar coating and not ESEE, but you could talk to the guy and see what he says.

Not sure what the rules are on giving out links, so PM/Email me if you'd like further information. Cost was $5.

"It depends on the size of the blade, but normally up to 25 characters. We can do 2 lines on most of the blades."

I didn't inquire about ESEE coatings, though, but their website had an example I believe.

this is the shot I found. I pmed the OP.

Don't know the engraver. But that is the look I am going for.

I think that and custom engraved orange Izula would be the bees knees, especially for a gift.

shoot, sorry just saw this. I didn't receive a pm? However, that is my pic and those are my knives, well one was for my wife.

My wife loved it, it was our first Esee knives and since then she got herself a HEST. :)

Jeff, 6 years isn't too long when you find the right woman :)

to get the engraving done I went to a number of "engraving" stores in malls, none of them would touch it due to the coating.

Then I thought laser engraving would be better. I had to search in my area for a place that would touch such a small order. Most had a minimum of 75 pieces.

Here is where I got the laser engraving done. They did both knives for $30, I think there was a $10 set up fee. (sorry mods if linking is not allowed).

They originally told me it would take a week but turned it around in 3 days. Small company but I think they did a great job. but, keep in mind I am in Canada so you might want to search around for someone local to you.

Glad you guys like the idea, we love them, great knives and the engraving just made them even more special. We both carry our Izula's everyday.

Yeah Amon, I sent you an email I guess. This forum doesnt seem to have private messages (PM's)

I found a laser engraver 2 towns over going to call in the morning. I completely forgot that I gave my buddy there number 6 years ago now to laser engrave a fire extinguisher for his fire house.

Time flies when you are burning through brain cells. :D

The folks (at Knifeworks) do top notch work.

This RC (ESEE)-3MIL is currently with my nephew serving in the 'Ghan.
