Here's what KnifeWorks says about the blade tip issue on the 710-1401:

"With the previous run, there was some issues with the blade height. We have received the second run and the issue is resolved. We have checked the knives and These are good to go.!! "​

Hmmm, this is interesting. I wonder if they got permission from Benchmade to advertise those prices???
 
I was wondering the same thing. Glad Benchmade fixed the tip issue. And best to keep those great M390 blades away from the carbide sharpener!
 
KnifeWorks is discounting 5% off of MAP only for its Benchmade KW dealer exclusives. The sale excludes regular production Benchmade products.

Thanks for the post, RamZar. I just picked myself up a second 710 and just grabbed the 810. The best part is I showed my wife both of them and she actually encouraged me to pick them up. I love m390 and blue/black g10 so these are hard to pass up, especially on sale.
 
Used the sale as an excuse to try one of the Ritter mini grips with m390v steel. I really like my full size version.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I've had my eye on the 710 in m390 - this was just enough to push me over the edge.
 
I am a bit confused. When I go to their site the 710 says that its a pre-order. Is that still true or did they not update it?

It looks like they are out of the current run but more will be made.
 
I'm not sure, but anytime you call Knifeworks there is a group of sweet young Lousiana girls just waiting to make you feel like you matter in this world. Roger's team has great customer service and would be happy to answer all your questions with a little bit of southern charm.
 
I am sure they a really helpful, but I was hoping that one of you knew because I may want to purchase tonight to catch the sale and I think they are closed.
 
Makes sense, I guess. I wonder what the wait time is, I cant find anything on their site that says.

Not a bad description of KW s fine customer service.
 
The sale price will be in effect for the pre-order even now that they're out of stock. In the past, they've gotten the next batch in about 1-2 months.
