What kind of knive sharpner do you use
I ues some old arkansas stones/oil
I do have one small Buck stick .
I am thinking of buying one of the Lansky sets any input
would be great

Take a look at the Edgepro. I have the professional model and really like it.

Pete (or anyone else): I have been considering getting an Edgepro. Is it worth the extra expense to get the Edgepro Professional over the Apex? Is the Pro overkill for the occasional knife sharpener or does it offer more features or more predictable and consistent results? Thanks.
 
If you have the money go for the EdgePro Pro model, the Apex is about $100 cheaper, and is a great system, but if you can afford the extra money the Pro model is better.

One more for the Edgepro. I used to have the Lansky w/diamonds stones, but I sold it and upgraded to the Edgepro Professional. While the Lansky was good, the Edgepro is great!!:D

And yes, I can and occasionally do use flat stones, but I prefer the Edgepro. Did I say I think it's great!!?:)
