Okay, so, I am posting in order of the blades that were finished, not handles. The cord wrap was done last night, the wood handle was a few months ago but I haven't posted yet. These are both from files, yes I am working with known steel now. Both were treated as 1095, or as best as I could.

Knife #2: Pink paracord over black leather. Temper line done with furnace cement, kind of visible. They have scratches but I was being pestered to finish. lol

I have come to find that I enjoy making the blades than I do the handles. The cord wrapping is Japanese style, in pink for my cousin, that I learned from "The Construction of Shinken in the Modern Age" and the Thomas Buck instructionals. Next file knife has been heat treated and will be done as soon as I can, she is the best so far.

And thank you guys for all the awesome stickies and helpful information. I would have never bothered trying if it hadn't been for this place. I see room for my own improvement, and I refuse to stop trying for a better product. I am studying my metallurgy and doing what I can to gather better tools. I am not working, but save money from fixing and sharpening knives for others. This money I save up and use for knife making materials. Next knife to be shown is an American tanto made for a friend, and then my chopper from 1084.

Nice work!

Don't tell anyone, but I like the pink one! ;)
